Close to the City of Worcester and located in the idyllic Bevere area, the gallery has become a popular centre for the display and viewing of contemporary and modern studio ceramics and pottery.
The Bevere Gallery features works from both British and international artists with a distinct focus on the pieces of well-known ceramicists. The venue usually features new content each month including woodwork, glass artworks, metalwork and jewellery – and of course – ceramics. In addition, the gallery aims to stage two major exhibitions every year.
The gallery is adjacent to beautiful Regency house in a walled garden and surrounded by well-established trees and country fields. The main display area is next to a small cottage that has been converted into a delightful café renowned for its homemade food and warm hospitality. There is a second small gallery located above the Café that shouldn’t be missed. Rooms for meetings are available for hire and the centre often runs art-related workshops.
While the gallery isn’t huge it is packed with excellent and thought provoking artworks. A bespoke framing service can be found in the adjacent shop which also sells a range of art and craft books, cards and magazines. The main gallery opens onto a walled courtyard which is used to display a selection of outdoor ceramics.
Visitors to the Bevere Gallery can also explorer the Summer Sculpture Trail and shouldn’t be surprised to see a quite lifelike representation of a gorilla peering at them from the foliage as they pull into the ample onsite parking. The trail runs through the woods of the ‘Big House’ and can be great fun for children of all ages.
The gallery is well signposted and easily accessed from the Worcester North junction of the M5 motorway.
