Things To Do Worcester | Chloe Elliot Interview
The other day we had the opportunity to interview the up and coming musician Chloe Elliot, a very talented musician. She has such a lovely voice and with such a passion behind her, we know she’s going to do very well. Read below for the exclusive interview with Chloe and her music career.
1)Tell us about yourself? Name, age, interests and where you’re from.
My name is Chloe, and I’m from Stourport-On-Severn. I’m currently 16 years old and am a student at a performing arts school in Birmingham. Obviously, my main interest is music! However, I have a keen interest in making sure that people are happy and benefiting from my music. That’s key part for me – I want to make music that my listeners enjoy, but at the same time, I do too.
2) How Long have you been singing? Is this something you want to pursue as a career? Or have you got other interests?
I’m going to go with the classic ‘I’ve been singing since I can remember’ because I have! Since the age of 7, I was trained classically in musical theatre, however, after completing grade 8 at a distinction, I decided that I wanted to write my own music and pursue that in my own style, rather than signing like somebody else.
I know that this is 100% the career path I am going to take. I know for a fact it won’t be easy, and it’s going to take a lot of work, but I am determined that I will succeed!
3) What kind of music do you like? Any specific genre, is there any type of music that inspires you more than others?
I’ll pretty much listen to anything, however, the music that influences me the most is when the words are have been made key. I’m am a big fan of chart music right now. However, the words don’t necessarily mean much, as the artist only really focuses on making a hit – which is totally understandable! But I will always stick to my guns and say that the songs that really mean something will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel as though you an connect and relate to them on a whole different level.
4) We hear that you sang at the Christmas lights what was it like, nervous? Excited?
I was absolutely terrified!! Haha! It was so scary. I was mega excited though, as Christmas is the best time of the year, and it was such an honour for BBC Introducing to invite me to help out!! Either way, once I got up on the stage, I had so much fun! Everyone was singing along with me and having fun, which honestly made me so happy! The only problem was – it was SO COLD, and I could barely feel my fingers!!
5) What’s one music artist you would like to collaborate with?
I’d be down for anything! But the dream is definitely to work with someone like John Mayer, Shawn Mendes or James Bay. Those artists are incredibly talented when it comes to writing emotional and meaningful lyrics. Most of my favourite songs are from those three artists.
